But pre 1980 is not the same as post 2000 where we all have so much disposable income compared to yesteryear, that silk is just one more commonplace item found in many a home. We can easily see this with the increase in demand for decorative silk pillow cases which adorn so many contemporary homes these days.

Many advertise items as being genuine silk, when in fact they’re a silk and cotton mix known simply as cotton silk.
